This page explains how the KlimEd project website uses cookies and similar technologies.

In brief

The KlimEd website is an informational website for a research project of the Institute for Migration Research. The website:

  • does not use analytics, marketing or advertising cookies,
  • does not track visitor behaviour or carry out profiling,
  • may use only technically necessary cookies required for the basic functioning, security and display of the website.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website may store on a visitor’s device through an internet browser.

Cookies may be used for various purposes, such as the basic functioning of a website, security, remembering settings, analytics or advertising.

2. Which cookies do we use?

The KlimEd website currently uses only technically necessary cookies or similar technologies. It does not use analytics, marketing or advertising cookies, nor tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or similar systems for tracking visitor behaviour, advertising, remarketing or profiling.

Necessary cookies are required for the basic operation of the website and cannot be fully disabled through the website itself. Such cookies may be used for:

  • website security,
  • the basic functioning of the WordPress system,
  • the correct loading of pages,
  • protection against misuse,
  • maintaining the stability and availability of the website.

These cookies are not used to track visitors for marketing purposes.

3. External services and content

The website uses certain external services and may contain external content. This may involve the transfer of technical data to the providers of those services.

3.1. Google Fonts

The website uses Google Fonts to display typography and maintain a consistent visual appearance. Google Fonts does not set cookies through this website. However, when fonts are loaded, the visitor’s browser may establish a connection with Google’s servers, during which technical data such as the IP address, requested file, browser information and the page from which the request was sent may be transmitted. Google Fonts is not used on this website for marketing-related visitor tracking.

3.2. YouTube videos

The website may include embedded YouTube videos related to the KlimEd project. Whenever possible, videos are embedded using privacy-enhanced mode and loaded through the youtube-nocookie.com domain. When an embedded video is displayed or played, YouTube or Google may process the visitor’s technical data. If you do not want YouTube to process data associated with viewing a video, do not play embedded videos on the website.

3.3. External links

The website may contain links to external websites, documents, video platforms, databases or other resources. By clicking an external link, you leave the KlimEd website. External websites may use their own cookies and privacy policies, for which the Institute for Migration Research and the KlimEd project are not responsible. We recommend reviewing their privacy and cookie policies before using external websites.

4. Managing cookies in your browser

You can manage cookies through your internet browser settings. In your browser, you can:

  • view stored cookies,
  • delete existing cookies,
  • block cookies for certain or all websites,
  • set notifications before cookies are stored.

Please note that blocking necessary cookies may affect the proper functioning of certain parts of the website.

5. Changes and future consent

If the KlimEd website introduces additional functionalities in the future, such as analytics, forms, advanced video integrations or other external tools, this page will be updated.

If cookies that are not necessary for the basic functioning of the website are introduced, visitors will be given the option to provide or refuse consent in accordance with applicable regulations.
